Turn Your Bare Metal Roof Into A Fortress Against The Forces of Nature

Flexibility of Metal:

  • Complete replacement of existing metal roof with a new metal roof panel system that can include enhanced insulation

  • Install new metal panels overtop existing roof providing a new watertight barrier without the complete tearoff of the old system and doesn’t interrupt the operations of your facility

  • Turn a flat roof into a sloped roof by adding a retrofit frame or building a tapered insulation system to add drainage to problem areas

  • Add a mansard or equipment screen to improve the aesthetics

Maintenance Services:

  • Remove and replace purlins or metal decking including upgrading the frame system to meet new building codes

  • Repair existing large gravity ventilators that are typical to the glass and steel industry including the operating motors and actuators

  • Clean, inspect and replace gutters including the single-ply lining

Types of Metal Roofing:

  • Exposed fastener panels on industrial and commercial buildings

  • Standing seam panels with hidden clips and floating roofs

  • Foam panel composites that can increase insulation values

  • Retrofit metal roofs by using the fill-in-the-flute techniques to turn a metal roof into a single-ply membrane roof

Turn Metal into Single-Ply

Until recently, owners of metal buildings had very few options available to deal with roof problems; none of them were very appealing. Panel replacement disrupted the workplace and tended to be very costly and coating systems couldn’t provide long term protection.

By altering the method of attachment, our Metal Retrofit system can be configured for many metal roofs that comply with most national, state and local building and insurance codes or requirements. CentiMark offers systems to meet the most stringent uplift requirements.

Metal Retrofit

Step 1: The first layer of insulation is pre-cut to fit the specific needs of your building and is loose-laid into the flutes (between the ridges in the roof). This layer provides structural support for the next layer of insulation and it also adds R-Value, helping to reduce your energy costs.

Step 2: The second layer of insulation is fastened directly to the metal deck or purlins through the first layer, providing a uniform substrate for the membrane. The layer of insulation can be configured to meet a variety of national, state and local building and insurance requirements. This insulation also provides additional R-Value, saving money by reducing your energy costs.

Choosing a Single-Ply System

CentiMark recommends either EPDM membranes or TPO membranes as a topcoat for its metal retrofit installations.

EPDM: Practically maintenance free. EPDM’s life expectancy can be as long as built-up roofs and is warranted up to 20 years for labor and material. EPDM is virtually immune to ozone, UV radiation and cold cracking. Material does not become brittle from plasticizer migration.

TPO: Fastest growing membranes in the commercial roofing market. Combining the security of hot air welded seams with the long term weatherability of rubber. TPO is the most environmentally “friendly” of all single-ply roofing membranes - no chlorines or dioxins produced.
